Bechtel Women's Group, Hanford Chapter

The Hanford Chapter of the Bechtel Women's Group was formed in 1994 and both supported charitable causes and the spouses of Bechtel employees who regularly moved with the company. The fundraised for programs ranging from the Boys and Girls Club of Benton & Franklin Counties, the REACH Museum, Safe Harbor Crisis Response, and the Playground of Dreams. The group funded $860,000 worth of programs during its tenure. It shut down in 2018.

Bechtel supported the Bechtel Women's Group throughout its tenure in the Tri-Cities. As the prime contractor for the Vit Plant, Bechtel donated more than $120,000 that supported the group's annual fundraisers. 




Bechtel Women's Group City of Richland Bench Swing Donor

In 2018, the Bechtel Women's Group raised money to donate a table and bench swing near the large play structure in Howard Amon Park. It was the group's final donation before the chapter closed.

Bechtel Women's Group Olive Crest Donor

In 2011, the Bechtel Women's Group raised more than $44,000 that was donated to Olive Crest, a local non-profit organization that works to help foster and at-risk children. The money raised aided in equipping a classroom with the necessary supplies and materials to host an after-school tutoring program.




Bechtel Women's Group YMCA Daycare Program Donor

In 2009, the Bechtel Women's Group raised $3,500 for the YMCA day care program. Proceeds went toward the purchase of indoor play equipment.




Bechtel Women's Group Boys and Girls Club Van Donor

In 2007, the Bechtel Women's Group raised $23,000 to purchase a van for the Boys & Girls Club of Benton and Franklin Counties. The 15-passenger van was delivered to Kiona Benton Elementary School.

Bechtel Women's Group Community Donor

In 2006, the Bechtel Women's Group raised nearly $16,000 at its annual auction. The proceeds were donated to Kids Haven, the Children's Reading Foundation, Pet Over Population Prevention, and Cork's Place.

In 2005, the Bechtel Women's Group raised more than $62,000 at its annual auction. The proceeds were donated to Domestic Violence Services, Academy of Children's Theater, and Girl Scouts of America.

In 2004, the Bechtel Women's Group raised $50,000 at its annual auction. Proceeds were donated to the ARC of the Tri-Cities, Habitat for Humanity, and the Benton-Franklin Substance Abuse Coalition.




Bechtel Women's Group Boys and Girls Club Los Amigos Musicos Program Donor

In 2003, the Bechtel Women's Group donated more than $41,000 to the Boys and Girls Club Los Amigos Musicos Program in Pasco. The money was used to purchase instruments, replacing borrowed and homemade instruments that were being used.

In 2003, the Bechtel Women's Group, Hanford Chapter, raised $12,000 to restore a horse, named Charity, that is part of Gesa Carousel of Dreams in Kennewick, Wash.

Bechtel Women's Group Community Donor

In 2002, the Bechtel Women's Group raised more than $61,000 at its annual auction. Proceeds were donated to the Children's Developmental Center, Benton-Franklin 4-H, Volunteer Chore Services, and Safe Kids Coalition. 




Bechtel Women's Group Boys and Girls Club Kitchen Renovation Donor

In 2001, the Bechtel Women's Group raised nearly $40,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Benton and Franklin Counties. The funds were used to renovate the club's kitchen in Pasco, Wash.

Bechtel Women's Group Columbia Basin College Scholarship Sponsor

The Bechtel Women's Group awarded multiple $1,000 scholarships to Bechtel employees and their families who attended Columbia Basin College.
